The Lothars

Nervous Center, December 8, 2000, in Chicago, IL

Chicago PosterThis was a tiny room located in the basement of a coffeehouse, in the Lincoln Square neighborhood of Chicago. 40-50 people showed up, which filled the place. Props to Eric Leonardson who got us this gig with only a few weeks notice. Eric is an experimental improvisational performer who builds his own instruments from everyday objects, materials, and devices. Needless to say, he played on the bill with us. We each played our own sets, and then Eric came up and played a 20 minute improvisation with us. The improv was fun, starting off slowly, but working its way into a rhythmic frenzy by the end. Who'd have thought playing in a dank basement could be such fun?
