Megapolis Festival, April 24, 2009
The Megapolis Festival is a weekend-long celebration of the craft of DIY audio creation. Artists, documentarians, musicians, and fans will be coming together to share secrets on producing and presenting challenging audio works online, on-air, and on the stage.
The Lothars will be headlining the opening night party at the Massasoit Elks Lodge, 55 Bishop Allen Dr., in Cambridge, MA, that also features performanaces by Radio Wonderland, Die Schrauber Boston Typewriter Orchestra and Peace, Loving
Once again, Dr. T will be providing visuals during our set and, as an added treat, the Lothars will be joined on stage by guitar hero Mark Sullivan (who, we are told, has never played Guitar Hero) and cello heroine Wisteriax (who, we are told, has in fact played Guitar Hero several times). Lothars performances are rare enough even without talents like Mark and Wisteriax, so this should be an extra-special treat.
The opening night party starts at 6:30pm and runs until 11:30pm, with the Lothars going on at around 10pm. Tickets are $10, $7 for students and free if you splurge for a weekend pass. Detailed ticket info is available here
